The Commercial Garage Door Opener Normally Closed Air Switch is recommended for use with Driveway treadle hose. The normally closed air switch functions to provide safety precautions for the operators. The air switch connects to pressurized air chamber that fits inside the existing bottom seal of your door. When the pressurized chamber makes contact with an obstruction, the displaced air is sent to the air switch which is connected to the operator. The air switch then sends a signal through coil cord to the operator. The operator then reverses direction, or stops, depending on the make and model of the door operator. This particular Air switch’s contacts are set in the normally closed position. Sensing Edge Systems are non-monitored, so it is up to the consumer to inspect the safety feature and make sure it is up to UL standards.
